Gorgeous Couple Wedding Photo Ideas

Oh boy, it’s been a little while since we talked about weddings. But since it’s just about that time of the year {you know, wedding season!} and Monday {our usual wedding day} I figured I’d talk about it today.

As I was thinking about weddings and looking at some wedding photos, the one thing that kept sticking out to me was the couple photos. You know, the shots taken of the happy couple after the ceremony? Yeah those.  Some of them were pretty basic and some were pretty lame, but some were so gorgeous. And it wasn’t even the photographer or photo quality that made it that way {though that probably has something to do with it}, it is the composition. If you happen to have an awesome photographer who thinks this way, fabulous. But if not, here are some great couple wedding photo ideas that you might want to pass along to your photographer to make those romantic wedding memories stay alive.

If you’re going to have a longish veil, this would be priceless. It hides your kiss and softens the moment. Romantic.

This one makes me think of my wedding day. Moviestar did this to me, but unfortunately we didn’t get a shot of it. It reminds me of man {the strong one holding you up} and wife {the dainty creatures we are}. So pretty.

Having fireworks or know of some happening on your big day? make this happen. Do it.

This idea creates a lovely silhouette. Again, romantic and subtle. Not average. Frame-able.

How sweet. He’s holding up her dress as she walks. Now that love. Men, show her you care….

I’ve always been a big fan of shots of the couple alone in their ceremony and/or reception venue.  They picked the place alone and it has a way of showing their intimate alone time in the space.

Crossing the “fielded” threshold. Again, it reminds me of the strong man and gentle woman. Another way to use this is to get the couple walking out of their ceremony venue {i.e. the church}

This is one of my favorites. Moviestar would never have gone for it, but with the long veil and puffy princess dress, it creates a soft moment. I’m a huge fan.

And to truly annunciate the new union {or if you really like Lord of the Rings}, try a shot through the ring.
