I know summer is about to end, and a lot of kids are going back to school now or are just about to, but I had to post this recipe before next summer. It’s a delicious twist on the classic lemonade you know and love and a great drink to end the season of fun in the sun. So, here is a recipe to make a pitcher for you and your kids and enjoy the last bit of summer.
Ingredients
1 cup of fresh lemon juice
1 cup of superfine sugar
8 (or more if desired) fresh basil leaves
1 quart of water
Directions
1.) Mix the lemon juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves.
2.) Add the basil leaves to the mixture. Stir them in and crush them against the sides and bottom as well to really get the taste of the basil in it.
3.) Add the water and stir until the drink is consistent.
4.) Enjoy!
If you’d like more basil, add some more and crush it into the drink. Or, simple toss in a few basil leaves or lemon slices as well. It’s a delectable treat and hopefully something you’ll look forward to making next year as well!

I’ve never tried Basil Lemonade before, but I’d really love it I’m sure, the smell of basil is so intoxicating.
That’s a cool and refreshing summer treat and the basil will definitely make a twist on the flavor.
Love the colors and the idea… thanks for sharing! Trackback:
